For Staff

What documents do I need when I join?

Clinical staff need to provide:

GDC Certificate
Indemnity Certificate
Vaccination History
Enhanced DBS Certificate (contact us if you need help)
Photographic ID

Documents for non-clinical staff are fewer.
How much do I get paid and when?

You set your hourly rate! We advise you on what's appropriate in your area. You will be paid 7 days after the hiring company settles the invoice.
Do you take a cut from my pay?

No :)
How do I accept new bookings?

You will be notified about bookings near you. Check the booking, any requirements and simply accept it.
How far do I have to travel?

You set your maximum travel distance on your profile.
How do I complete the timesheet?

You must complete the timesheet at the end of the shift using a Signature Code from the practice.
How many working hours are guaranteed?

Six working hours are guaranteed per booking. Practices will usually hire you for the day.
Can I work at another practice or agency?

Check your contract with them for any limiting conditions.
What if I cancel/fail to attend an appointment?

Your account will be restricted by our algorithms. If you fail to attend, a penalty fine of a daily charge may be imposed.

Which areas do you cover?

We cover all postcodes in the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).
How do I book a locum?

Use our Calendar. Pick a date, type of staff you need and any requirements you have. It only takes a few clicks.
Can I hire multiple locum staff?

Yes. Send as many booking requests as you require for a given date.
How do you screen staff for compliance?

All clinical staff have an up-to-date folder with standard documents: a GDC Certificate, an Indemnity Insurance Certificate, a Vaccination history record, an Enhanced DBS certificate and a photo ID.
Can I cancel a confirmed booking?

Yes. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours of the booking time are charged at the minimum working hours rate. T&C apply.
Do I need a credit card on file?

We recommend saving a default payment method. Alternatively, you can pay as you go. All payments are safe with Stripe.
Can I pick and choose the staff I hire?

At Just Locum we focus on availability. You will be sent the first suitable staff member to accept your booking.
How much do you charge per booking?

You can see the average hourly rate for staff in your area. We charge a booking fee of 20 per cent (unless stated otherwise).
